Une nouvelle version de cet émulateur GameBoy/GameBoy Color a été publiée. Voici la liste des changements:
New/Improved Features
- UI improvements to the Cocoa palette editor
- Improved audio quality on libretro; audio is now rendered by SameBoy at 2MHz, and downsampling is now handled by the libretro frontend itself
*In the Wii U build, downsampling is still done by SameBoy
- With the meaning of register $FF75 discovered, it is now referred to as rPGB in the debugger
- The output of the watchpoint debugger command now includes the watchpoint type (read-only, write-only, or read-write)
*This makes the default watchpoint type (write-only) more obvious
- Windows 11 users can now optionally disable rounded corners in the Graphics Options menu
- Official Windows builds no longer require installing MSVC runtimes by linking against mvscrt.dll
- Major improvements to debugging in the SDL frontend:
*The main emulator window is no longer unresponsive when the debugger is stopped
*Pressing keys in the emulator window while the debugger is paused now triggers a terminal bell
*On Windows, sameboy.exe and sameboy_debugger.exe have been merged. Press Ctrl+C at any time to interrupt the debugger and open the debugger console, and close the console window at any time to resume normal gameplay.
*Async debugging now supports all compatible versions of Windows, adding support for Windows 7, 8.x, and earlier builds of Windows 10
- When using an external controller, joysticks can now optionally be used as faux analog controls
- This feature quickly alternates D-pad buttons between pressed and release states to simulate analog inputs
- The SDL frontend will now automatically resize the window when switching between models and border modes as long as the window hasn’t been manually resized
- A workaround for an old RetroArch bug has been removed, audio in the Wii U libretro port is now louder
- It is now possible to enable audio for both Game Boys in the Link Cable mode of the libretro port

Accuracy Improvements/Fixes
- OAM randomization is now more accurate
- Fixed a bug where certain SGB transfers would copy data incorrectly when running SameBoy on big endian platforms
*This fixes many SGB games suffering from garbled graphics when playing on the Wii U
- Fixed a potential accuracy issue when emulating MBC7 games
- The number of band-limited phases was increased in order to reduce overtones in high-pitched sounds

Bug Fixes
- New palettes will now appear on the Cocoa frontend even if the user have previously customized palettes
- Fixed a bug that caused the Pink Pop theme to modify itself once opened in the palette editor, in both the Cocoa and iOS frontends
- Fixed a bug where the vertical layout was not usable on certain iPads
- Resetting emulation in the SDL version while the emulator is paused will now resume emulation
- Fixed a bug where changing the emulated model in the SDL frontend does not immediately closes the menu
- Removed Unicode characters from libretro settings, as many frontends cannot display them
- Fixed a bug that caused ROMs to run without a window in the Cocoa port after changing the emulated revision
- Several iOS and watchOS crashes have been fixed

Removed Features
- Integration with the Homebrew Hub has been removed from the iOS frontend

Misc Internal Changes
- The OpenDesktop thumbnailer is now stripped when built in release configuration, rather than being stripped only upon installation
- Official releases of SameBoy now build using the latest version of Clang, gaining speed boost of around 8%
- The FM synthesis routines used while rendering the SGB jingle have been optimized for speed

Une nouvelle version de ce frontend pour MAME, prévu plus particulièrement pour NegaMAME,a été publiée. Voici la liste des changements:
- With this version, the bug with gamepad left sticks on Linux is finally fixed! Now, people can use the left stick to move the mouse pointer as on other desktop OSes. But this requires special user rights that must be set up only once. The first time you plug your controller in, Negatron will display a warning message explaining what must be done to activate mouse pointer control from gamepads. You will need admin rights to set this up. But once it's done, off you go!
- The 2nd big feature of this release is the availability of a full pack dedicated to macOS computers on Apple silicon / Aarch CPUs. Before its availability, only power users and developers knew how to make Negatron works on macOS computers with Aarch CPUs, using the mac64 full pack or the cross-platform pack as a base. Well, this hassle stops today and the latest machines on macOS become first class computers as any other desktop computers.

There's actually been some pretty exciting development this time around. At this point, there's some support for almost every officially licensed peripheral or cartridge for the DMG/GBC/GBA! Here's what's new...

Notable Changes:
- Reworked all infrared netplay when using Hard Sync. The sync only happens during IR transmissions. Previously, the sync would occur at all times, slowing down everything to a crawl. This improves the overall experience by only slowing to sync for brief moments.
- Added full support for the Campho Advance. Users can send audio/video data across a local network. An included webapp can be hosted on a server, allowing users to capture webcam input via a browser and direct that to the emulator.
- Added full support for the Play-Yan, Play-Yan Micro, and Nintendo MP3 Player. Yes, you can now use GBE+ as your very own media player.
- Added support for the M161 mapper. This is an odd 4-in-1 cartridge from Nintendo's official Chinese distributor back in the day.
- Added support for HuC-1 and HuC-3 infrared transfers.
- Added partial support for GB KISS LINK. It works with the GB KISS Menu and can send/receive GBF files. Check out https://gbkiss.org for more info on the accessory.
- Added support for the Agatsuma TV Tuner, the only official TV tuner released for the GBA. Users can emulate TV channels with a 24-hour schedule.
- Improved SMID auto-generation for AM3 video cards.
- Microphone input is now selectable from the Qt GUI or via the .ini file, perfect if multiple mics are available on a system

This version is a bugfix release, which contains several important fixes. Though 0.10.4 was scheduled to be the last version before 0.11, some major issues were discovered and fixed. Important fixes include save state loading leading to a small portion of the ROM getting corrupted until reset, which affected games including Golden Sun, the Wii version (and potentially other versions) crashing when loading from ZIP files that are too large, and another issue with the updater. As this version only includes important fixes and smaller fixes that are unlikely to cause more issues the list of changes is small. This will be the last release before 0.11 unless a major issue is discovered, and may be the last release to support Windows 7 – 8.1 and macOS 10.9 – 10.12. An extensive list of changes follows after the cut.

Ce gestionnaire de ROMs a été mis à jour. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
UI:
- added: optionally hide/show roms/disks/samples output via context menu
- fixed: remove datasource XML file when hash folder changed (should only happen when XML file was internally created from an exe export)

Core:
- added: "available:" filter which limits the machine selection to files you have. You might notice a count difference in total vs filtered even when you got all files. This is based on the fact that a) empty sets are excluded and b) there are clones which are totally included in their parent, so -in split mode- you don't have a standalone file/folder for it. So don't worry about the count.
- misc: "file:" filter, in case you work with softwarelist collections, you'd need to prefix single entries with sl-name#pacman (e.g. a2600#pacman) to specify which set you're refering to. Not needed for single sl files or standard dats though.
- misc: some earlier cancel returns in fix wrong named disk/sample/rom/machine
- misc: dupe output now shows all found paths belonging to a machine
- misc: updated spdlog to 1.15.1
- misc: limited AUTO thread switch to 25 threads as max (or less depending on your hardware). You can still manually select more or less if you like
- fixed: dupes can be listed multiple times
- fixed: backups for unneeded folders can create wrong and very long folders due to wrong encapsuling
- fixed: backup can miss empty unneeded folders at first scan
- fixed: fill-in file from addpath/backup path was removed (when requested) even when fill-in copy failed and you might had a 0 byte new archive
- fixed: log pattern in commandline mode

Cet émulateur multi-système a été mis à jour. Cette version corrige notamment un problème important dans l'émulation Super Game Boy. Les améliorations sont les suivantes.
While this is an unusually quick release cycle, there was an issue that unfortunately made it into the last release that we feel needed a priority fix: This version fixes a regression that caused Super Game Boy, and other add-on carts for the Super Famicom/SNES to not load properly.

Important notes:
- Distributors: The legacy build system is now gone, this release can only be compiled using CMake
- MacOS: The minimum macOS system requirements have increased to 10.15 (Catalina)
- Game Boy: The save data path for "Game Boy Color" has changed: existing users using a custom save game path will have to manually move their saves from "Game Boy Color" to "Game Boy". Users using the default "Save alongside rom files" will not have to take any action.

Nintendo - Game Boy / Game Boy Color
- Use "Game Boy" save path for both GB and GBC, fixing using the same rom file on both GB and GBC hardware without losing save-data between them, and fixing Pokemon Stadium when loading a .gbc rom (the Transfer Pak only used the GB path)

Nintendo - Game Boy Advance
- Improve timings when running multiple DMA channels at once.
- Fix a timing bug when accessing the cartridge backup region.

Nintendo - Nintendo 64 / 64DD
- Fix Joybus RTC read/write status byte
- Don't report interrupt exceptions to GDB, improving performance while debugging.

Sega - Mega Drive / CD / 32X
- 32X: Fix a timing issue that could cause some operations to update the ares internal timers twice.
- 32X: Fix an issue where audio would fail to work correctly after restoring a saved state.
- 32X: Fix layer blending when the MD VDP is in H32 mode.
- 32X: Proper 32X region header processing for licensed games.
- 32X: Fix SH2 framebuffer mirroring.
- 32X: Improve emulation of FEN/PEN flags.
- 32X: Improve emulation of 'FM' bit and relate stalls.
- 32X: VDP register latches have been implemented, but may still be imperfect.
- 32X: Implement VDP auto fill timing.

Build
- Add librashader headers to the source tree under thirdparty/librashader/include/, so that remotely fetched resources are no longer required to build ares on Linux.

User Interface
- Fix an issue where saved games would be placed in incorrect paths if a custom Saves path was set on macOS.

Cet émulateur multi-systèmes a été mis à jour. La version MacOS Compat pour OSX 10.9 à 10.13 ne semble plus être prise en charge. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
Since v141, 18 contributors have created 107 commits to the ares codebase.
Along with various improvements to emulator cores and the ares application itself, v142 adds support for a new system: The SETA Aleck64 Arcade board.
v142 also introduces a new CMake-based build system that improves compatibility with modern toolchains and IDEs, and simplifies the ares build process for new developers.

These updates have fixed all currently known audio issues with Mega Drive games.

- Fix a typo in ISViewer debug emulation that prevented roms sized between 0x3f0’0000 and 0x3ff’0000 from working properly.
- Fix an issue where attaching GDB to debug a Nintendo 64 ROM could trigger a MIPS CPU exception.
- Improve VI timing to properly handle non-standard display modes, including PAL60.
- Fix VI interrupts in interlaced mode to happen on the exact same scanline as real hardware, including with known hardware bugs.
- Advance RSP DMA during RSP execution, preventing DMA races in long-running code blocks. (Fixes Tarzan)
- Correctly implement invalid SPECIAL opcodes in the RSP so that they match hardware behaviour.
- Fix signed integer multiplication and division when the input operands are not sign-extended 32-bit values.
